Engineer Olubusola Ogunbanwo , B.Sc., MBA, FNSEis a results-driven, multi-dimensional energy professional with extensive experience in leadership, asset development, production management, and corporate supply chain in top-listed energy companies.
He combines technical expertise, operational excellence, corporate governance knowledge, and high integrity to achieve strategic corporate goals.
He began his career with Shell International in 1990 as a Well Site Petroleum Engineer and held multiple roles across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and the United States, gaining recognized expertise in project management, reservoir studies, field development planning, and implementation.
He voluntarily retired from Shell in 2010 as Principal Reservoir Engineer and Regional Forecasting Lead.
In 2010, Olubusola joined Seplat Energy as the pioneer Principal Reservoir Engineer and advanced to become General Manager for Western Asset & Supply Chain, Board Member of Seplat Gas Ltd., and a member of the nine-person Seplat Group Leadership Team.
He led asset development strategies that grew company production from 14,000 bopd in 2011 to 40,000 bopd in 2014, and over 80,000 boepd in 2016, supporting Seplat’s dual listing on the Lagos and London Stock Exchanges. He also directed gas gathering, development, and processing expansion projects, positioning Seplat as Nigeria’s leading gas producer, handling over one-third of the country’s gas by 2016.
He has attended multiple technical and leadership programs, including Harvard Business School’s Authentic Leaders Program and Senior Executive Program.
He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.
