A multi – industry professional. Started his engineering career at the School of Engineering (Midwestern Polytechnic, Auchi) in 1971,graduating as the Overall Best Student and as the Prize man. He proceeded to Institut Universitairedu Tèchnologie de Nìmes, France under Federal Government Scholarship. He later moved to the United Kingdom to study Civil/ Structural Engineering at the University College, (University of Wales) , Cardiff obtaining the BSc.(Hons.) Degree.He had flare for Plated Structures- Plate Theory and Structural Vibrations.
TRAININGANDCAREERINOILANDGAS EXPLORATION
While in Auchi, he was among the five students selected by the School to undergo the one-year Sandwich course with Shell-BP,(ENGW/21) Warri.He was deployed to Westminster Dredging Company (WD Harriet) handling dredging of Swamp slots and locations for Swamp Rigs and Barges in Opuama, Egwa and Odidi. Supervisedthe Civil works of the 4 new wells (Oben IUKA, Oben IYKC,Oben IMKE and Oben North)of Oben Field.
Joined SAFRAP ( later elf Petroleum Nigeria limited) as Civil Works Engineer in OML 58handling Piling of Conductor pipes,Single / Double Cellar well construction suitable for FOREX 110 RIG. Other special tasks carried out included:
*preparation of wells for Work Over, Water Injection and Gas lift
*was part of the Team that handled theObagi Flow Station expansion in 1983.He is also versatile in pipelines and flow station facilities development including oil recovery via Sever Pit
CAREER IN THE IRON AND STEEL INDUSTRY
In 1983, he joined The PROJECT ENGINEERING & DESIGN BUREAU of DELTA Steel Company , Aladja– Warri, a Group of over 60 Engineers trained to handle Plant design such asSteel Plants, Aluminium Plants, and Power Plants from Concept to Commissioning.
While in India, he was the Project Coordinator for the Feasibility Study for a 600,000MT Gas-based Steel plant on Indian shore.Worked with Project Groups of Metallurgical & Engineering Consultants of India(MECON)variously at Ranchi, Roukela, Bhillai and Bokaro Steel Plants in India.
CAREER IN DOWNSTREAM OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY
He was pioneer Network Manager of the Down Stream Network Development and later Operations Manager of elf Oil Nigeria limited. He, along with his Engineering team developed the Network of Service Stations across the nation and consequently lifted elf oil Nigeria, one of the Eight Major Marketersto a significant market share position.
This was a success story recognised in Nigeria and the Elf Aquitaine Headquarters in Paris. A fall out of this was the Profitability Bonus Scheme from which every staff of the Company:from the Managing Director to the Cleaner had a share.At a time, healso served as the Chairman of the Major Marketers Operations Committee (MOC), the body that liaised with PPMC on Refinery Units availability and Product distribution nationwide.
He was retired in 1994 but has in the past 32 years remained an active Team Player, (Project Director) in multi-million dollar Construction projects in Lagos, Nigeria.
He is well travelled , and speaks English and French.
