Willie Okon Udo

Willie Okon Udo is a retired NNPC (NPDC) professional with over 32 years of upstream oil and gas experience spanning drilling engineering, well design, well completion, and full asset management. He is recognized for operational excellence, problem-solving, and a strong commitment to efficiency and teamwork.

In 2010, he led the successful intervention of the Oredo 8bis well, preventing its abandonment due to a 13-3/8” casing back-off; the well remains in production. As Company Man during the Frontier Duchess drillship campaign (2008–2010), he supervised the drilling of the Ugboko exploratory well and Okono 6 and 7 development wells, increasing production while saving NPDC significant consultancy costs. He also supervised the drilling and completion of NPDC’s first five horizontal wells within eight months—all of which are producing.

He played a key role in reactivating the Non-Associated and Associated Gas project in OML 20 after 18 months of inactivity and has consistently delivered measurable production growth across managed assets.

Selected Achievements & Assignments:

* Managed OML 26 AMT, increasing production from 8,000 bopd to 15,000 bopd
* Managed OML 20 and OML 11 (Shell-transferred assets), raising production from 7,000 bopd to 11,000 bopd
* Increased production by 3,000 bopd (OML 20), 15,000 bopd (Okono), and 6,500 bopd (Oredo)

* Delivered 100 MMSCF/day for the Pan Ocean gas project and 45 MMSCF/day from Utorogu wells

* Team Lead, Ogini Horizontal Wells Project

He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS), Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), and is COREN-registered.
